Who says you cannot easily become successful as blogger in Nigeria? Do you think it is that difficult these days to break through as a blogger in Nigeria? No my brethren, you don’t need to pass through where Linda Ikeji passed.

I know so many Nigerians think that before someone can be successful as a blogger in Nigeria, he or she must at least be hungry and patient for at least a year. Because someone you know did not make it that easy do not mean you won’t. Successful bloggers that suffered before they became who they are today has made the journey so easy because we have learnt from their mistake and found out the easy way.

In this post, I will be showing you how you can become a successful blogger in Nigeria. I will be drawing a blueprint for you that you can use to become successful within your first 3 months as a Nigerian blogger.

Are you surprised? I know you will and maybe you have just checked who I am so you know if you should believe me.

How to Easily Become a Successful Blogger in Nigeria

1. Build a Blog around a Hungry Niche

For sure, most online blogging coach will tell you that for you to become a successful blogger, you need to build a blog around your passion (what you love). Never try that. One thing you should ask yourself is, is your niche profitable? Passion don’t pay bills, it only makes you patience. If you want to be successful as a blogger in Nigeria, go for a niche that already has a striving market and start posting informative content for the public.

If nobody is hungry to read what you are posting in your blog, it means nobody is interested in your niche or they are better resources than yours.

2. Drive Traffic to your Blog

If you ask me what makes a successful blog? I will say, “A hungry audiences”. There is no greater joy when you see lots of comment on your blog and also seeing that your posts are being shared via different social media platforms.

Don’t hesitate in doing this, immediately after building your blog with great design, publish four to five posts. There are different ways to drive traffic to a blog but I will share with you the ones that I know that works.

Facebook Advert: Facebook advert is one of the best ways of driving traffic to your blog. It works like magic, to the extent that so many online marketers prefer it to traditional advert. It tends to convert better and faster because it is targeted to reach the specific people you want to reach.

PPC Advertisement: This also works so well because you only pay when someone clicks on your advert and land on your blog. In this method, your advert will be display on different platform online to drive traffic to your blog.

But what do you do with this traffic when they come to your blog? Are they just going to read your content, comment and leave? Your job here is to convert this traffic into subscribers.

Here is how it works, you first plan something like a campaign and make it your landing page. It can be a free eBook, podcast, or a very valuable content on your blog. Then you run an advert using any of the two I gave above. I will suggest Facebook because it is very effective, then when people click through your link, they will land on your landing page where your content will be waiting for them.

You bribe them with either a free eBook or video so you can get their name and email address to build your list. After which, you start building relationship with them by sending weekly newsletter to them consistently.

3. Create a Product

How do you do this? As you begin to consistently send newsletter to your list weekly and also post on your blog, you start getting feedback on what they really need through their comment and how you can provide it to them. To be sure of what you are thinking they need, you can run a survey to find what.

Ask them question like, “If you have the opportunity to have lunch with me for one hour, what two questions would you like to ask me?” when you drop such question to your audience, it spark up different thought in their minds and they start dropping their questions to you.

You will do them good by providing answers to the ones that are very straight forward, while the ones that the answers may look a bit complex, you compile the answers and create an eBook with it.

Don’t wait till you have 1000 subscribers on your list before you start selling; start thinking of selling from the day you get your first subscriber.

This eBook becomes your first product. The number one reason why most bloggers fail in the blogging niche is that they first create a product before they even have an audience. How would you expect people that don’t even know you to buy from you? Haven’t you heard that people do business with people that they KNOW, LIKE and

TRUST?

4. Launch your Product

Your product will sell because now it is your audience that told you their problems and your product is specifically going to solve their problems. And you have already build relationship with your audience so you don’t need too much conviction.

Your first product should not be charge too high, you can upsell them later with a more complex product. The average price for small product in Nigeria most especially eBook is ₦2500. Imagine just 100 people get to buy this eBook from you, that will give an income of ₦250,000. Will this take you up to six month to achieve? Hell no, it won’t even take 5.

In summary, creating and designing a blog shouldn’t take more than two weeks. Then, you start publishing your post and share the links on various social media platforms and start checking your site stat.

After one month of publishing informative content on your blog, you then plan your campaign, run a one-week Facebook advert and start building your email list. And immediately start feeding your list with useful content that they will love.

The next month you are already packaging your first product and thinking of launching it. That’s it. This should take you roughly three month to start smiling to the bank.

Go tell that person who told you that it takes years to start making your first five figures that it takes three months. So, what are you waiting for?
